Mytheholde is a small island hidden off the coast of North Carolina. It’s one of a few places in North America where the veil is thin between our world and the Otherworld, thus creating a nexus of Magen (magical energy). It’s the only one that still has a working doorway between the worlds.
Twice a year Mags (magical folks) from all over North America flock to Mytheholde for the Otherworld Festivals: the Festival of Night at Samhain (October 31), when the magical dead are allowed to leave the Otherworld to visit their family and friends; and the Festival of Light at Beltaine (May 1), when the Fae come to visit and trade.
Because Mytheholde is hidden from the eyes of NoMags (non magical folks) by a magical boundary, magic can be done in the open. That makes it a prime vacation spot for Mags from all over. And the beautiful beaches don’t hurt, either.
It’s the home of the Arcane Council (who govern the entire magical community in North America), the best magical healing center in the US, and Witchtree Academy (the premier magical college in North America).
